Melburnians research on the alpine sports city
Following the Matchpoint.Melbourne project and events in 2010 the
architecture department of the Universtiy of Innsbruck hosted a
research and design studio centred around the topic
‘Innsbruck - the ideal sporting city?’.
The introductory event to the design studio was a symposium comprising of guest speakers from the fields of sports, architecture and urbanism. The presentations gave a multifaceted overview around the formulated key question. Introduced by research on local sports history and the alpine landscape, switching over to potential strategies for Innsbruck's sports marketing, and summed up with potential methodological approaches to Matchpoint.Innsbruck.
